The Story of Worapol

I'm from Southern Thailand, a place called Songkhla. Since I was a child, my priorities have always been study and hard-work. I thank my parents so much as well because they fully supported me as an Artist and let me catch my dream freely by following my passion.

Being a painter is all I know. When I was young, I didn’t have many jobs. I applied to the College of Fine Arts in Lad Krabang the first chance I got and I was accepted! My style has evolved so much since a student. I'm primarily painting now with a Trowel. I use a paintbrush for the first layer, and then the trowel for the second layer.

"I must finish a painting at the same time, at the same moment, with the same emotion or the painting will not be perfect in my eyes." - Worapol

When a painting is complete, the emotion will be gone, but then a new emotion will develop once again. The emotion between each painting is different because the emotions come-and-go, they are unstable and uncertain.

As a painter, I'm inspired by  Vincent Willem Van Gogh. I don’t want to be like him, but I respect his use of color, Van Gogh is the best for palette color. You can truly see his inner emotions because he was able to express it out in his paintings.

"The only way you can express inner emotions though a piece of art is by truly feeling the emotion individually with each piece. If you can't feel it, then you can't express it in a Painting." - Worapol

"Southeast Asia tells a story of Ancient Life and Exotic Environments. The 1st world kid inside of me is fascinated with the 3rd world stories that these Artists have to tell."
